Sounds like a good day fishing and your uncle helped another get the crappie bug
Sorry I am a little late on the report but its been one of those weeks. We went striper fishing last Saturday morning on Hartwell so I did not bring any crappie rods with me. Started out great caught 10 striper and hybrid within he first hour they were small probably average size a pound and a half. We caught 4 more that were better quality but still small 4-6lb fish. While we were striper fishing my uncle came crappie fishing in the same area and caught his limit in 2 hours! He was ready to head home so we swapped gear and crappie fished for the last 2 hours and were able to get 15 in the boat. My buddy fishing with me caught his personal best 1.85lb crappie and caught the crappie fishing fever now!

Hartwell has been producing limit after limit of crappie this year! Amazing how its not very popular on these boards. Nice job.

Good report, Hartwell has some very nice Crappie but Hartwell also has a bad reputation from pollution from years ago. Although many fish it there are still a lot of the older guys that go to other lakes. This is the reason for few reports from Hartwell.
I myself enjoy fishing there because it is my closest lake but have not been fishing much. This year has been the best year for catching Crappie there that I have ever heard of catch rates.
Thanks for the report

Crappie fishing is horrible on Lake Hartwell always has been....lol. We don’t need any more boats on that lake. Every weekend they have 100s of bass tourney’s. And as it warms up good luck fishing brush with skiers and jet skis doing ciricles around you. Word of advice don’t ever let anyone see you catch a fish on hartwell.
