I think you run right by me this morning, I waved at you, right above colonial creek.
So after being skunked the last two trips, i fished my placemarks from a year ago on 12/26/2016. Fished 36-40fow again. The baits had to really sit there so i wasnt getting bit during the morning wind using spot lock. The action started As soon as wind died down and they could look at the baits for multiple minutes. Ended with 6 monster crappies with largest being 15.5" or so. Also got two nice stripers. Lost a big big cat and another striper. Quite a few missed bites also as you could just set the hook on the first bump. Look for that deep bait in the channel on the bottom and you will find the slabs. Will get the video in the moderated forums as soon as i can, will include a clip of the boat that came in on me only to mark his gps on the spot i was fishing.

That's a good fish, and report. Hate that other boat came in on you. That's the price you pay for being successful and making good fishing reports. Congrats!

micorps thanked you for this post
unfortunately they saw me fight a striper for 5 minutes. They fished the same side and didnt see any catches and was obvious the way they came near me what they were doing, especially when they avoided eye contact or any communication. Then i saw the reach for the depth finder and heard the beep to mark the gps. Yep i just hope we dont have a repeat from last winter where there was 6 boats sitting there making me to go to alternate spots. But i am sure i can find more spots knowing what to look for.
