    Angry lowrance problems

down loaded 5.0 for hds gen 3.lost my shaded depth on navionics map.Called Lowrance tech tells me to update my map at navionics.Navionics tells me Ill half to purchase an update card.100 dollars later I have the the update map put it in an now I have fishing depth.Same thing as shaded depth just with a new title. So 100 dollars for nothing I didn't already have before the update. Then I updated my 3-d box with the 2.0 latest software from lowrance when I do it fries a 1000 dollar 3-d module so I call lowrance.Tech tells me the module must of had a glitch.thats what caused the module to to go out.He tells me they will send a new module but I had to put 800 dollars up until they receive the old one back then they will return the 800 dollars. So I do an I get the new module.Open it up an no return shipping label.I go to return the old module so I can get my 800 dollars back an it cost me 60 dollars to send it back.I call Lowrance an explain this to them an all they can say is TOUGH LUCK PAL.So the next time you are trying to decide what fishfinder to buy keep this in mind.

Sounds like they made money even replacing what you needed.
I hope you have it working after dealing with the trouble you had to deal with.

When we were waiting for our boat build this spring I looked at the HDS 7. Went out trolling with a buddy in Charleston who had been having issues with his HDS 9 (gen2 i think). He was extremely disappointed in the customer service, and that's framing it nicely. That along with the deal I got on our 74sv was enough to lead me away from the HDS.

Lowrance got me years ago. I’ve been with Humminbird every since. Never had another problem.
