I got one in there above the bridge. It is an 8 ft Wally Marshall with a pfluger president on it. Did you fish above the bridge or below it. Right now above the bridge should be good. Thanks for sharing
I've been chompin at the bit to explore this lake so I went today to scout around. Caught 13 while not cruising. All the fish were small, only 4 or 5 frying size; I assume the draw down didn't bode well for the lunkers, but heck - I was catching fish. The water was amazingly clear but there was a lot of floating debris; leaves, twigs and small limbs along with a little trash. Temp was 68 on arrival 74 when I left. Looks like it's only one or two feet below full pond. If you go take plenty of jigs and heads, it's got to be the snag capitol of the world. I worked pretty hard for those babies. Lots of fishermen out today but every one was pounding the banks and docks; I was only one I saw longlining.
I really like this lake. Lots of structure and cover. Not too big so it's really easy to cover. It's a lot deeper than I thought. Lots of points with steep drop-offs and deep coves. And did I mention - snag city.
Oh. Some may recall I lost a rod and reel a few weeks back. Look what I dragged up today. Not a fair trade.

Good to see a report from Secession. Like you I'm surprised to hear the lake isn't a mud hole with the rain we have had over the last week.
I also have a few rods in the lake but I will willingly give up more to fish that lake. Thanks for the report.

I went below the bridge. My main mission was to find a friend's cabin by water way down river, so I cruised as much as fished. Nine of the fish came from the first cove down from the bridge. I'm thinking about going back Thursday. Going up stream from the bridge - your advise always works. I'll keep an eye peeled for your rig.
