Man that had to be fun pulling that one in. How about the video? Thanks for the report and pic.
Yesterday I had the idea of hitting the bridges down at Wateree for them big pre season ladies (crappies) but laziness over came me and I went to my usual spot...Allison Creek pier which is a tad closer to me than the bridges down south. I fished a slip bobber on one rod with a minner and a proto type hi lo rig in order to catch what ever was stealing my worms out in the deep. I was using size 14 hooks 2 at a time baited with left in hot truck by accident redworms on the hi lo rig. Caught them alright. Dinky dinky bream and a mess of shiners. Was even able to catch a couple crappies on the slip bobber. Then the action died.
While I was trying to untangle my own 2 way tangle, my hi lo rig rod tried to jump over board. I threw my mess down and grabbed the rod in a nick of time. That big boy didn't like being hooked. He fought and fought and managed to pull me into the snag monster offshore. Since i was using light braid, the braid actually see sawed it self through the mono "ball" and I was free again. A nice young lady named Mary ( she ties her own jigs and has outfished Larry and I) got my bobber rod in so I wouldn't have another tangle and was able to guide the big boy to shore while Steve was filming the who fiasco. I waded out in my shorts and lipped the critter. 5lb Power Pro, Size 14 hook and 6 lb fluro rig line was able to hold for me. Needed a beer after that.
Oh I could wrestle a monster fishFisherFore, quikcarl61, Sctacoma33, Eatmorecrappie, Redge, BigDawgg, Boatorr, Lloakley930, djdsouff, micorps LIKED above post

Nice catch
Sounds like the monster wrestled you! It's a good trip always to catch something.
