A lot of good info here. I have been using 7' spinning rods for tight lining. I see all the spider rigs and long rods out there. Wondered where they purchased.
X2 on Mark. He makes a very reasonable rod holder too. He also carries Southern Crappie rods, though if you just testing the water, the Pinnacle Limits at $15 or hard to beat.

I am starting the process now! Much better pricing than the slew of bass rods I have now .lol
You cannot beat the southern crappie rod. We regularly catch 6 to 10 lb stripers in Murray and I caught a 15 to 17 lb blue cat on one a couple week ago. If the pocket book can afford the price start with 14 footers and you want have to change later on when you get more proficient at spider rigging. You can start with as as few as you want and add more. The norm for spider riggin is 8 rods per person. Southern crappie rods place is by Charlotte. Check him out and don't listen to anybody that says b&m are just as good.

Raucous,
Welcome to the boards. There are a lot of very helpful guys on the board with a wealth of experience, information, and story telling ability. Greenwood is the lake I fish most often and would be happy to meet you some time and take you out. I have to admit I still have a lot to learn, but would be happy to share what I have learned about Greenwood. Things should be starting to heat up as the water warms.
I personally use hitek and Cumberland crappie holders on my boats. They all are good it just depends on which ones you like. Millennium make one of the best holders on the market but at around $160.00 for a set of four they are quite pricey compared to the rest. Buy the ones that you like because they all do the job they are designed for. Pm sent

You have hit the big time on good info here. These folks dont mind sharing and showing. All the rods mentioned are great. Depends on your wallet what you want. If you get tired of Greenwood come on over to Wylie and meet some of the real weirdo people on this board. Welcome Aboard and waitin on the reports . And dont forget the pictures. !
