Default Santee Cooper Lakes from a kayak

I plan on hitting these lakes with my kayak over the course of this upcoming week. Any general launch location that would put me in a good area to catch crappie? What depths should I look for?

I do not have a fish finder and was planning on jigging/shooting docks along with float/minnow shoreline trees.

Would it be wise to go out to the tree line along the old river channel in Lake Marion?
Weather-wise, should I pick a warmer day, or simply not the day of an approaching cold front?

If anyone is looking for a crew member/buddy on a weekday for either Wateree, Murray or Santee, hit me up.

don't know much about kayaking but I do know a lot about wildlife in the great state of South Carolina be careful gators do love easy meals !!!

With a Kayak I would launch at Packs or the Sparkleberry landing to avoid any big water to cross. Lowfall Laning on the other side would work also. Jacks Creek is another choice. Any of these will put you in the cypress trees without having to cross much open water. I can tell you from experience you do not want to cross at Stumphole or the State Park if the wind is howling.

Sparkle berry is the ramp that most kayak fisherman use from the reports I receive.
    Hope you get on some.

Taw Caw Creek park is good, but watch for the pair of 14ft gators there.
Thank a Veteran every chance you get.
