Default When it rains it pours...

Decided this morning I needed to do the 1 gallon of gas and can of seafoam cleaning...got everything setup put muffs on motor cranked her up immediately noticed water coming out from where it aint supposed to.. upon closer inspection the water is spraying out just below the #1 spark plug hole...I can see part of the head plate gasket sticking out...

Time to spin some wrenches hoping it's just a bad head plate gasket....

If it's a Mercury, thats what it is, mine has done that 2 times , it's a 05, I put a after market one on the last time and it has held up better that the last 2, I forgot the torque settings but you got to get them right or it will blow the new one out. I got a manual here somewhere for that motor.

Hate to hear of the motor trouble and hope you can get it going soon. Good that you found it now before it became worst.

Thanks... just keeping fingers crossed that it's an isolated simple gasket failure....To be honest I have no idea how long it's been leaking! really couldnt say the last time I had the cowl off and on muffs...
