Just because you physically saw someone catching fish in a certain area using a particular technique doesn't always equate to being able to duplicate it. There are many subtle differences that may be performed by the fishermen that can make a huge difference between catching and zeroing. Just a few may be jig weight, color, depth fished, presentation, and speed. I hate you did'nt catch'em, but use the trip as a learning experience and keep after them. Sooner or later the stars will align and the fish will be trouble.
