Sounds like a good day on thewater
The Raccoon, his woman, and I went fishing at Monticello yesterday to check things out. Armed with Asian mart shrimp, frozen pond bream, and 2 varieties of worms (dead and alive) we hoped to catch catfish, not stumpknockers (bullheads). Took a while to get there but able to launch at a decent time, 8:30. Motored to the spillway close to the nuclear plant. Caught a couple perch in 30ft of water, then drifted over to the triple digit depths. Raccoon used 2 5 gallon buckets to slow the drift down which worked pretty well. He caught a few nice blues on shrimp heads. His woman caught a few nice channels on worms. Free lining seem to pay off. At least I caught the pond bream from night before. As Raccoon and his girl were loading the boat up, I heard the ice cream truck from a distance. I walked to the main rd and flagged it down. Was short on cash, but the ice cream man took the pond bream as a trade.
Oh I could wrestle a monster fish![]()

First time I ever heard of someone being able to trade a pond bream for a icecream! SCORE
Enjoyed the report and it is good to hear some fish were caught. It is a ride for me to get there also but I enjoy catching those cats. Thanks for posting the report.
