    Default Wylie 7-30-16

Had a great time meeting turkey foot and Mike and fishing with
Grady. The fish did not cooperate, but we still enjoyed a nice night
    On the water.
Sorry no pictures but I think the keeper count was
1 crappie for me. 1 catfish for Grady. 6 keeper crappie for Brent and Mike.
Look forward to the next get together.
Thank a Veteran every chance you get.

Did you'll even fish on Wylie? I would have thought more fish last night with a good moon like you had! They all must be down river in deeper water. Glad you'll got out and went, I stayed home with legs propped up in throbbing pain. Not much better this morning. Hopefully Brent has a picture of a couple.

The bait was so thick you could walk on it. As soon as the light went in the water we had bait at the surface. I got one pole in the water and before I got the 2nd in I had that cat on the line, then stopped.
Crowder's creek was full of bait, Brent was out in the middle of the lake and did better than us.
To top the bad fishing the starter battery decide to die, luckily I have a lot of batteries on the boat, did the switch and we were off and running. The batteries are dated 11/12 so I got about 4 years out of it. I'll replace them both since they are both that old.
It was a nice night to be on the water, good friends old and new. I'll be ready by Wednesday to see if I can do better next time.

Big difference from the last time we went, we didn't have hardly any bait and you slammed the crappies. How deep were you fishing ? Seems Crowder's would have been a better spot.

We were in about 27 feet. We had a bunch of fish jumping just outside the lights, looked like perch busting the minnows.
Couldn't get the back anchor to hold so we finally gave up and used the front only. Right at 11:30 we puled anchor and started toward the power line the bait stayed with us till we turned to head out.
I think I'm going to take my iron maiden anchors next trip. I may have to drag them back to the ramp so I can get help getting them back on the boat but they should hold

I'm heading to a park pond to see if I can find a few cats to add to the few I brought home from Brent, Mike, and Grady.
It's HOT so I hope to find a tree or 2 to hide under.
