Thanks for sharing the post and pictures. Those are life long memories being made
Got on the water lines in at 7:00. Action was fast.Doubles and triples.
Surprised me that a 5 pound 5 ounce Green carp hit a sabiki with cut bait. He must have been hungry or not to smart.
Got the usual slimers. Lost a few coming in the boat, kids starting to get used to hauling in the boat. They had plenty of practice.
Met Charles Biggers out there and said it was ok to join him. He was hauling in the bass left and right and we were hauling in Perch not 20 yards from each other. That was fun. Charles has his pattern down real well on those bass. I saw him catch a good dozen all he said was he caught a bunch of bass.
Grankids said this was the best day in their life. They got more coming they are here all week and I am on vacation.
Ended up with 51 perch to clean for yum yum's dinner.

Way to go guys! Clean out the population and have fun with those rascals. They are good to eat for sure. Thanks for the pictures and the report CK, looks like it was fun.
Always fun when kids are involved!
Awesome report CK. Make future fisherman to keep the sport alive.
Thanks for the awesome pictures too.
Thank a Veteran every chance you get.
Going to wylie tomorrow. What kind of bait/jig are you using to catch these perch if you don't mind me asking?
Caught another 40 this morning will post later. I call it my perch jerk rig. Weight on bottom with two hooks above. Crappie minnows and when you catch some real small ones they are cut bait. You filet them but leave the skin on. Cut them in small thin strips. I take now 4 dozen minnows and when about 20 used up start using cutbait on one hook minnow on the other. Look for long points usually this time of year. Humps are good. There are some long points you need you map on fishfinder to find those can be the best ones. Today we caught them 15 feet to 30 feet.
They will be schooling real soon. Usually end of June. Right now just small schools and spread out.
I wish I can go trolling for crappie now but with kids the White Perch are the ticket. Love to see the look on kids faces bringing in a bunch of fish. It is a true blessing.
