Default Best Father's day in a long time ...

My son drove up from Aiken to spend the weekend with me for father's day. We went down little allison in search of crappie. We were fishing with live minnows running 6 to 16' under a bobber. My son caught a very nice catfish and I caught a small mouth bass. In the previous week my wife and I had spotted brush piles with the GPS but the coords didn't save. I believe the trees were in the next cover deeper in but I didn't think of that until we were ready to go.

The boat operated nearly perfect with only idle motor speed being something to fix. I had performed a temp fix on the trolling motor power wires to see if I had the issue in hand. Everything worked as intended.

    Nap time!!

That's great, my kids are coming over this afternoon for a cookout and to clean up the pontoon after using it last night. Chips every where.

Glad the boat's working good for ya. Next time make sure you saved those waypoints though. I know you enjoyed having your son home to fish with you. My son wanted to take me fishing yesterday for Father's Day. He and I haVE both fished A BUNCH so we both know how the bite can go. We striper fished Lake Russell and only hauled in one 3-4# hybrid....but it wasnt about the fish at all. It was real nice to share a boat together again as we dont do that nearly as much as we should. Last weekend my daughter and her fiancee' came home and spent the weekend with us to celebrate Father's Day. I fired off the smoker, cooked a bunch of meats, invited my Dad and his bride over and we all had a great feast. It has been fun but for me but today was the beginning of another week for me which means another work day. 4 more and my week is made and hopefully some fishing will be in order. (Probably be after those slimers again though.) I hope all you Dad's was in contact with your kids today and had a great day!

Sounds like a good day with the family. Hey do you have a pic of the bass? There aren't supposed to be any smallmouth in Wylie, just curious if it truly was one.

My mistake, based on the lake wylie fish pictures reference site it must have been a white bass (I'd not heard of that before).
silver in color, no stripes or spots, probably around 12" long, sucked the bait in and was hooked in this throat (whatever you call that on a fish). I was't able to get the hook out easily so I cut the line and let him go, he swam off. I'm hoping he lives to get really big so I can re-catch him ).

I think that was a perch. We need to get you hooked up on those perch and help us get rid of the varmits.
Nice report and thanks for fishing with family.
