    Default Augusta Chronicle fishing report

said today that Clark Hill crappie bite was " on fire". Hard to believe with 83 degree water temp. Maybe it was in reference to the heat?
Anyways it said fishing minnows over brush. I plan to take my initial cat fishing trip to Clark Hill in the morning. I may stop by the quick shop for some minnows now. May just have to check my brush one more time.

Be sure to post details about the catfishing. I'm struggling on the hill trying to land a few. 1st trip did OK...2nd trip skunked.

The brush reports are accurate. Friends on the Hill and on Russell are filling coolers right now, and the newer the brush, the better!

Was really too windy to fish anchored down but I did catch three channels in the few hours I fished. The first brush pile I fished was the best. I actually caught more off that like yesterday than I have all this year. But it's nearer the main lake so maybe that was it? Another I checked had plenty on it but they were too small for me. I know SCsays you can keep an 8-9 inch crappie but I don't. And the last pile I fished didn't have anything on it. Strangely I thought if any of them were going to have fish on the that would be it. 8-12 ft deep in 20-25 ft of water was where I fished with minnows. 84 degree water temp.
