    Cool Greenwood today

The last week or so I have been having the worst of luck. I have been having trouble with my 90 Mercury not wanting to idle so I drove down to Orangeburg to see if I could get my carbs adjusted. First thing they want to do is clean the carburetors high dollar job. Said I would have to leave it no way. Drove over to Santee wanting to go to jacks creek and they had the road closed. Not knowing another way turned around and went home. Stopped in Lexington at another shop and talked to him and he told me how to adjust them. Went home and hooked to water hose and adjusted carbs. Now it purrs like a kitten. Went to greenwood this morning hoping to catch enough for a meal. Got there and launched and put trolling motor in water. Nothing would not do anything and did not have a Phillips screw driver to remove screws in front panel. Was getting ready to load up and go home when My old buddy Jack called me and I told him what had happened so he brought his boat to greenwood and we fished till 12:30. We caught fish in 20 ft of water pulling 1/8 and1/16 jigs. Fish are suspended from 5 ft down to 15 and scattered. No one color was best as we caught them on all colors. Brought home 11 good fish over 10 inches for a good meal. Water temp was right at 75 with a lot of trash floating. Pulled right around 1.0 mph. Tomorrow will find out what is wrong with trolling motor. I want to say a special thanks to BIgtime for saving my day. Can't have to many buddies like that.

Sounds like some tough luck with a good ending thanks to your friend. I used to live in Greenwood and loved this time of year. Except I fished for Bluegill with a fly rod.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck Don. I'm glad to hear Jack was able to help out. Congrats to you both on a mess of fish. Thanks for the report.
Hey Don I'm on vacation in a couple of weeks if you feel like going fishing on a day or 2.

Sounds like you have my good luck charm. They lost the bridge going to Jack's creek I think when we had the Oct flood. You have to go up always and come in from the north end, had to do that a few months ago when I took my grandson down.
Glad Jack came to the rescue for you at Greenwood. Curious to know which shop you stopped at in Lexington. My guess would be Buddy's Marine, but there are several others open now.

That's too much bad luck for one fellow, I'd go ahead and buy a lottery ticket as your luck has to be about ready to change for the better. A good friend is like no other, they will come to your rescue when no others will. Congrats to you and Bigtime for catching a nice mess of fish.
