If I had a nickel for every fish that's been in that one cooler...
Congratulations on another great weekend.
Another couple fine days on the water. I fished Thursday, a short trip on Friday and again on Saturday. Both Thursday and Friday a spent jigging brush, and placing a few brush piles out. The bite remains strong, with limit catches of good fish caught. Just for kicks, I put the trolling gear in the boat for Saturday. I concentrated on a shallow flat, fishing waters 7 to 9 feet deep. I was pulling 1/16 and 1/32 ounce jigs at speeds of .92 to 1.04. The bite was never strong, but the fish caught were good'uns. I kept at it until the troll bite slowed around 9:30 as others have stated they experienced too. I had around 15 fish in the box, so I switched to jigging to catch a few more and finish off my limit. Darker colors were best trolling, chartreuse remained strong jigging.
Thursday's box
The main lake has experienced a huge mayfly hatch. If you rode by a Cyprus tree, you were covered with them.
Saturday's box. I had some fish in the live well, the water leaked down and they died. That's the reason for the lighter colored ones on top.

Another Couple of nice boxes Tim.
Congrats and thanks for sharing.
I haven't seen the mayflies on Wylie yet but it's getting time for them.

I'd like to have a nickle of that action myself. I assume you were referring to the top cooler as it is my favorite, and most used. I'd like to have a couple of more of them, but they are hard to find. It's the igloo salt water cube. No wheels, extra thick top to keep ice longer.

Congrats on the catches Tim. Sounds like Santee fishing is good and the fish are hungry for some jigs. Enjoyed your report as I always do
Good pic of the Mayfly, last year by this time I was killing the gill with the fly rod and my Mayfly tyes. You catch the flies in the trees and put one of these two color flies in with them and hold on Looks like a another few weeks before I'm back on the water but have enjoyed reading the reports.

Good report Tim. Glad to see youre still on the fish. If I was a betting man I'd bet it remains that way all summer long too. Congrats on the catches and thanks for posting.
BTW, that picture of the mayfly is the first one Ive seen this year so far.

Good job Tim. I was supposed to be down there this week with my buds that you met on one of our trips. They are on the bream now. Last month Hnery caught a ton of shell crackers and now the bream are hot and here I sit.
Too many irons in the fire, be glad when May is over then my calendar slacks off.
Keep after them and maybe I'll make it down there sometime.
