    Default Saluda lake

Has anyone tried saluda lake? A buddy of mine was bass fishing the lake lat week and made a comment that the water temp was 56 to 58 degrees. Was wondering if anyone has had any luck with crappie on the lake recently, i would think with water temps still low they haven't spawned yet.

Have not seen any reports about crappie fishing but do know the bass were biting slow Saturday. If you go let us know how well you do there.

Went Sunday and the water temp was 72. Longlined for a mile or so towards mid lake with no luck. Shot docks for a few hours with a couple of good strikes and 1 12 inch crappie. Frustrating day after catching a limit on Greenwood Saturday. My guess would be to try up the lake where it is even shallower or maybe in the river a bit. I know they are there. We just couldn't locate them. That was my first crappie out of saluda lake so it was a productive day.

Does anyone know if there is still boat access to Saluda Lake on the Pickens county side? There was one on Pistol Club Rd. I'm told.

Haven’t been there in a while, the reason I quit going is they got quite ridiculous on what the charged to launch a boat. It was a clean nice place though. As for the fishing..cats and bass were good there, crappie were hit or miss. I did catch a crappie once fishing for bass at night with a black ribbed u-tail worm. It went 1-3/4-2lb. So there are some larger ones there. Just never got into them in numbers. Good luck.
