    Pardon the typos, hard typing on my ipad. Also, i made the drive up and back in 2008 and 2012 from wa dc when i got stationed up there. I can offer any insight on that also.

    I've been looking at a couple of places around the Soldotna area and the Kenai River. Some that look good that you do all of the cooking yourself and the others there are two meals a day provided. About a $500 to $600 a week difference in price for the meals, and this is the low end places. Some of the other places are in the $5,000 to $6,000 range for a 6 day trip. I guess it's all about how well you'd like to be pampered. Still looking and reading a lot.. You really have to look at all of the small add ons that are in the fine print too.

    Yeah unfortunately lodging rates double in the summer to gouge the tourists. Are you by any chance retired military? You plan on drivng or flying?
