Default Lake Wylie Catawba nuclear station warm water disharge

where is best bank fishing close to it? Creeks close-by benefit from the hot water? I found almost none about this warm discharge fishing on internet.

Allen station seems not run at all.

Hate to say it but your not going any farther than the bridge on the bank. It is blocked off and it's not worth the trouble. It's watched by the security at the nuclear plant. You'd be better off fishing out of a boat under or out in front of the bridge.

They're kind of touchy about the nuclear plants these days thankfully. Years ago, we used to go up behind the plant and fish. You'd probably get shot now.

Well, Ron, you know I don't have a boat. The close-by creeks might benefit from it. I need to fish on the bank, around the bridge or along the nearby creeks. I am just trying to figure out the exact location.

Sounds like you know about the nuclear bridge. It is just past the nuclear plant (4850 Concord Rd, York, SC 29745) on the right side of the road. Just before you get to the bridge you'll see the fence that blocks off the entry to the cat walk. (If there is a hole in the gate you might try to fish from the cat walk but don't get caught.) You just walk down the hill and find the path that goes to the cat walk or go on down to the water and hang a left and walk to the bridge. Good luck under the bridge. Like said cast out with a slip cork and the first structure is around 15 foot anything father out is around 18-26 foot. I am sorry you don't have a boat because that's going to hold you back on a lot of fishing. Only a few spots you can get to on the bank. It's been discussed here before. The pier on Big Allison is a good spot, you can at least walk the banks to the left and find deep water under the power lines. To the right of pier the high banks is fairly deep and on around to the boat ramps is around 15 foot deep. You can catch just about any fish except stripers. Hope this helps you.

The lake water isn't cold enough for fish to be hunting or holding in warn water spot like they will once the water drops into the 40's. Bridges that makes the lake draw in like a funnel would be a good place to fish from the bank. The bait and fish has to come through those funnels and would give you a good chance to catch them. Using a float/jig, float/minnow or casting a jig and counting it down to different depths before reeling in.

Hope you are able to find some places to fish. Good Luck

And if you fish at night at the Nuclear Plant discharge you can see the fish because they glow in the dark and they are already parboiled so you can just eat them out of the lake. Might want to get you affairs in order first though.
