Butch, I ate Salmon, wife had the Tilapia. Just kidding. It is hard to know what you are eating these days if you did not catch it yourself. Even then it might have PCBs in it. They put red dye in farm raised salmon to make the meat red like wild caught, otherwise it is a sickly pale color no one would eat.
I have read that about the Tilapia and also some conflicting data saying other wise so who knows? I have never caught or eaten any of the Tilapia we put in the ponds.
I saw a Swai fish dish advertised on an outside sign at one of our better restaurants here in town and I had never heard of it so I googled it. Turn out they are raised commercially in southeast Asia in ponds where they are fed animal and human waste. Made me want to chow down on some right then.
Kind of understand why some people are vegetarians.

well, that is interesting. Buddy of mine stocked his pond last spring. Before the weather got cold we ran seine nets to catch them all. Figured it would be a shame for all those fish to go to waste when they died. I have half a freezer full. Might just have to send them on their way and make room for more crappie.

I wouldnt worry about it brushpile. You can find negative literature on the 'net about anything. I posted this merely being "cute". Like Ray said...other fish carry alot of PCB's and there's people living around Lake Hartwell that have been interviewed that have ate them all theyre lives and theyll probably outlive alot of us.

I think it's just farm raised tilapia. Wild caught should be fine. There's no telling what's done to farm raised fish.

looks like it might be propaganda put out from one of the anti farm fisheries........like some wild caught organization,

just about anything you read in print or on the net you almost have to check and see who wrote or paid for the article...... the clue is "recent studies" without naming where the studies came from.........
