Default is this a jerk move?

so i was bass/striper/whitebass fishing yesterday on wateree i was bank busting i had the trolling motor on mid and i was cruising down the bank tearing everything up i mean left and right i was catching white bas on the crank bait and if u have ever been to collonels creek u know how the bridge side bank is where there is a good layer of weeds before open water and there where guys fishing that on the bank so i just kept on my regular path because they where bream fishing with bobbers and i wasnt fishing for there species and this guy goes nuts on me when i am passing im fishing like 30 yards away from him he starts shouting you have the whole lake i just commented back im cruising through chill out they have a bridge for a reason your not even suspost to be fishing on the retreats property anyways and he is just flipping out screaming and shouting at me and i just didnt see that i did anyting wrong so i just sat there and fished and the funny thing was that about 10 minutes later i started ripping into some striper right in front of him and man it wasd hilarious.

my motto is that it is public water and you dont own the lake and we werent even fishing for the same thing soooo was that a jerk move

I mean i dont have a boat, but you werent fishing for the same thing and you were going through with the trolling motor, not blasting through there fast so I think you are good. I bank fish and only get pissed when someone flys past me.

You did the right thing. Best not to overreact when someone starts acting like an idot. One motto we always say is "You can't do anyting with stupid". Some folks just don't get it. You had every right to do what you were doing. Glad you got into the strippers and put on a show for your new friend. Your kindness paid off! Oh yea, our next best if not the best saying is "Take the High Road"

I wouldnt be trolling or casting into his lines. Other than that and the lake is shared. I try not to crowd anybody.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

Anytime I come across someone fishing from the bank I yield to them. There isn't many places for bank fisherman to fish so why mess with their fishing spot. I say you made a jerk move and not to sportsman of you in my book. Just my .02

I've been anchored up in the back of a cove crappie fishing in 4-5 fow with corks and had a bass boat come through with buzzbaits. Landed one within 2 feet of my cork before I spoke up. Didn't sit well with me, so I try not to do it to others.

I am fortunate to own a boat and have also been a bank fishermen and it's tough, so I always give a guy on the bank plenty of room. He might have handled it a bit out of line but, IMO you should have been more courteous.

I'm with stump and bioguy on this one. The fella may have acted a bit out of line but that's probably a result of past experiences. Bank fisherman don't have very many options so I yield to them also. I may have trolled through keeping my same path but I wouldn't have cast till I was past him. Just my opinion...

It goes both ways ..I'm sure if the roles were reversed you wouldn't like being crowded like that . He may have overreacted , but in my opinion you were in the wrong . Just because you have the luxury of a boat , don't disrespect those that don't
