Default Double Wateree Report 3/26 and 3/28

I went to Wateree Thursday morning to do some fishing and recon for the Raccoon. Plus I wanted to try out a rod I got from the Cabelas bargain cave 8'6 Fisheagle salmon rod. Started fishing at 630 am. I thought the fish would bite like crazy before the front but............nope. One slimer on the first drop with a minner and that was it for the 6hrs I was there. Had a worm baited hi lo rig tossed out far as I could with my salmon rod but it was hard to lose a worm even.
Went to Wateree yesterday with reinforcements; the Raccoon and Perch Jerker 35. Launched out of the state park. First stop the "slab hole". Marked fish like crazy but nothing would touch our bait. Went up to Cedar creek even. Nothing there as well. Tried a place where the Spanish Moss had a foot hold on the trees on the northern end of the lake. I squeezed the skunk out with a squeaker perch. Then I caught a small blue cat. Both on worms Drifted on down some. Caught a diamond back perch on a minner and then pulled up a nice crappie on my salmon rod armed with a hi lo rig baited with worms. Ended up throwing in towel at 1230. Raccoon and PJ blanked but at least the ham and egg biscuits from the Windmill on Longtown Rd made things ok for them(good restaurant btw). While they were loading the boat, I tossed out my hi lo rig out to waste my worms on dink bream. Instead hooked a big kitty that got away
Oh I could wrestle a monster fish
