    Default Last trip of 2014

It was a great night out on the water. Only saw 1 other boat. Lots of BIG fireworks all around. Bit chilly but bearable. Anchored up in 38 fow near a brush pile and dock. Water was clear and 49 .Minnows tightlined from 2 ft. off bottom up to 10 -12 ft. No one depth was really better. Guess they were moving with the bait schools. Did manage 24 crappie and kept 15. Couple of real slabs. Most were 10- 12 in. with the few throwbacks. The perch were having a good time eatin. Must have caught 40 or more of those critters. Couple of big perch in the mix also. It was a short trip. Told the bride I would be home early to watch the ball drop. Got in bout 10:30 and she was already sleep with t.v. going wide open. Dang coulda caught a few more. Oh well. That puts 2014 fishin in the book. Now I am ready for 2015. Hey brettw , Check out the stay warm tool in the picture. Nice and cozy all evening. Happy New Year to all . And may it be a CRAPPIE one for ya !

Thanks for the report. We had dinner at a friend house and they set of fireworks, a little scary when two blasted over into the house. No one and nothing was hurt so it was a fun night.

Nice catch and good report. Glad seeing you finished 2014 with a bang instead of a fizzle. Congrats. I worked New Year's Day and sat the nite out here at home trying to get rid of this dang cold. Hopefully better days are ahead for me soon.
