Cutbait, thanks for starting this thread and getting the event organized! I really appreciate all of the guys that helped and offered help to us newbies!

John, thanks for being so kind to guide a couple of us to a couple of spots. The entertainment was great!

We'll have to hook up again soon!

I had a great time last night! This was my first time fishing for crappie and everyone's hospitality and patience with me was greatly appreciate! I was greeted as soon as I pulled up and welcomed into the group by many. After telling a few of the men that this was a a first crappie trip for me and that I have never been on Wylie before I was quickly approached by several guys saying I was welcome to follow them out in my boat. I ended up following Cutbait out and he could not of been a better mentor. After anchoring up, he walked me through light placement and answered any rigging questions that I had. He was even kind enough to send me over some of his jigs that he makes! I started out with minnows on one rod and one of Cutbait's jigs on another rod. Cutbait patiently talked me through from his boat on the proper way of jigging for crappie. I let his jig float down and slowly reeled up and pulled up my first ever crappie on my second try! I guess that speaks for it self on the quality of Cutbaits jigs! Man I was sold from that moment on crappie fishing! Throughout the night, I ended up with 9 fish and five of them keepers. The catch was split between the minnows and the jigs several times at the same time! Minnow fishing was fun but I have to say that jigging was more taunting and challenging, and had me captivated! After arriving back at the landing the I had a chance to see my first weigh in and meet other members. I cannot thank everyone for their advise and fellowship. The trip up from Anderson was well worth the payoff that I received. Thank you to everyone, my first crappie trip was outstanding! Any many thanks to all the guys that provided the prizes and take homes. Again, I would like to thank Cutbait for organizing the trip and taking time out of his night as host to help a rookie out! I can not wait to get back on the water to improve and build on what I learned and experience last night!

I think RSW's comments says a lot about this group of guys who call ourselves fishermen. I had a similar experience at my first outing and really regretted not being able to make this one. Hope we can have another and look forward to a springtime event also.
Thanks to all the guys, especially Cutbait, for making this happen. The support from Slab and our local guys just make it more special.
Congratulations guys on a good outing.

I came from Columbia and my partner was from Gilbert. We had TONS of laughs, didnt catch anything... But we still had fun! Certainly was worth the drive! Thanks for the Anchor Rope! THANKS A TON to ofishlbizzness and cutbait and Bigdawgg for all your help! couldnt have done it without you! literally didnt have proper anchor setup for the area, didnt bring any bait (thanks to being late and missing my minnows from bigdawgg and jigs from cutbait because of mechanical problems with my truck) Next time i will be more prepared! cutbait or ofishlbizzness if you go out again and dont mind me tagging along (with my boat or not) let me know! im always up for some fishing!

THANKS FOR THE ANCHOR ROPE AND CRAPPIE.COM DECAL!
