    Tader,
I have that same unit and never had a problem. (3 years old) Are you sure that is not a protective film over the screen that you peel off. Usually they ship them with a thin film (like Saran wrap) over the screen to protect against scratching in shipment.
Hope it is something that simple.
    Good luck.

ray do u have cover on yours. I took the plastic cover off I cleaned the screen with water. The manual says to use vinegar and so I am going to try that as I think it may be grease from my finger touching the screen

    Thanks you very much

Touching a df screen with your finger is a no-no! I wash mine with soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.

    Tader,
To answer your question; no I do not have a cover on mine. I have owned a good number of units over the years and have never used a cover, but I am thinking about getting one of the 7" screen DSI or SI combos and I may rethink putting a cover on it.

Bowman....I did not realize that...it didn't say not to in the manual and I figured it was no different than a phone screen and what kind of soap do you use

It almost looks like stress crack. Send a picture to HB to see what they have to say. It may be a defective screen.
Be careful what you wipe the screen with, use a lens cleaning cloth not you tee shirt

X2 don't use rag either, if you wear glasses you'll know why, get you some glasses cleaner and soft clother that should come with the cleaner, if not go to the eye glasses part of Wal-mart or other store and ask, that the best thing I've found to clean all the gunck off my screens with.

Soaps can have chemicals and abbrasive stuff in them that will scratch your screen.
