I'm pretty sure I've seen an add on mount for a toon to add a kicker motor. It is linked to big motor for steering.
I will check into the mount you talking about Ray I could probably sink a pontoon with crappie I caught trolling an old 5 hp mariner with the prop ground down to make it go slow dragging hal-flys the old jelly belly kind I still have several cards of um. I never could get um to bite the fuzzy bodies for some reason. back then we looked at the bank and guessed at how fast we were goin if we weren't catching fish we ground more off the prop lot of fun back then we only used 6 rods. man!!! memories ooooo memories could write a sears Robuck catalog size book on um

Would it work? I was thinking, always dangerous, what if I tied one of the string float stops on my lines about 60 ' out. Then I'd have all my lines out the same. Marking the line with ink works till you break off a couple times, this way you could move the string. Would it work? Inquiring minds want to know.... well at least this one

I did that Grady. It seemed like a good theory BUT haha it is a snag on the spool. I’ve cast it out and it just doesn’t let the line peel off good.If was a bait caster it might work BUT I have longlined with baitcasters and they don’t spool out easy enough. If I had to choose I’d guess it would be better to just guess at a good cast distance.

I found a spool of braided line at a garage sale that was color coded every 10 feet. It is distinctly different colors not just a mark, but like 10' of yellow, 10' of blue, etc. I put it on my Striper reels and it is real handy in summer when they are holding in 30-50 over a 120' depth. I can drop a herring or spoon right on their head. It is 14# test so not real heavy but I have not tried to use for crappie. Be good for long lining I bet. I can't find this brand on the internet and have never seen it elsewhere.

The name is Kast King. 500 meter spool.

PS After I posted this I decided to Google this again and I found it on Amazon. It is KastKing.net not .com! That's why I didn't see it before.

I'm not sure if metric line will fit on my reels.
    Ray is it lead core?

OK Grady I'll humor you. It's also marked as 547 yards. It's about same diameter as 4# monofilament. And no, it's not lead core, we ain't fishing Lake Erie for Heaven's sake!
    That help?

I tried the float thingys on all lines this year. Pulled all off 3 days ago.
    Why?
1 , they make it really hard to cast,PITA.
2, they get hung reeling in but ONLY when u have a nice fish on
3, when you break off a line that depth is ruined, must reset

Now that being said, I’m going to go try one rod with the kind of slip float stopper that’s made of string. It holds way tighter and is smaller, slip through guides and not ruin every cast ?

Brettw, that's the kind I was thinking of not the rubber blob kind.

Searay I was just messing with you. It's time to reline my reels I think I'll get a spool and do my long line rods with the colorful line

if you are not confident with casting all your rods and having the same amount of line out and know where your jigs is depth wise !!! here is something you can do ; I am going to use 50ft as example , in your yard mark off 50ft then release the line on rod lay down walk to 50ft mark and drop the jig or what ever is on the end of the line !!! now the idea of the next part for you is to mark your line to know where 50ft is now when doing this using the stops on the website to follow this is to put the stop before it gets to the eye on the rod from reel !!! now you can cast your jig out and make sure the stop is between reel and first eye !!!! stop should never get hung up it should never reach the eye !!!! hope this helps !!!
