New to site Need help fishing Lake Wylie, SC I grew up fishing the Backwater delta area in or around the Mississippi river fishing cypress knees and around cypress tree trunks and lots and lots of brush/cover, often catching slabs only fishing 8 inches deep right up next to the bank. This deep water fishing in Lake Wylie has me stumped. Even when I find cover near the bank I can't find Crappie no matter what time o ear I Fish.
Wylie has plenty of big slabs. But no cypress knees. Most folks fish the brushpiles or around the docks this time of year. But dont be scared to try deeper water. Catchin some now in 50 foot water . Tightlining with minners. Some folks longline jigs and do well. Keep after em. Watch the board cause they is some of us get together regular on Wylie. You welcome to join us any time. This coming Sat. is CrappieFest on Lake Russell. There is a bunch going over for that. Check out the post at top of S.C. page
