    Default What a FUN morning

Well, I got to the ramp early this morning and JIGGS and his guest was already there. Got launched while FOM and his party of LADIES (4 of them) was pulling in, and low and behold...here comes GABOWMAN, Burdawg, and Bringin' Blood. Got the lines in by the lights and it didn't take long to start putting fish in the boat. As the sun came up, the bite for me slowed way down. But as it slowed down for me, FOM and his lady friends got on a tear sure-enuff. Those ladies were doing a MUCH better job of putting fish in the boat than FOM was doing on Thursday morning fishing for himself. Butch wasn't feeling sociable, so he left us and went to another spot and he lit into 'em there. I will admit that I was low man on the totem pole this morning, only boating 20 fish or so, about 1/2 keepers. It was a GREAT morning! Got to talk with and enjoy the fellowship of some good friends on the water. Burdawg and Bringin' Blood were putting some good fish in the boat this morning, too. JIGGS and his partner boated about 35 or so, but I think the others out-fished both of us. Found out this morning that FOM will take ladies fishing CHEAP. I reeled in about 10:15 and met up with Butch at the ramp and ate some sammiches, cookies, chips, etc. The water sure makes me hungry. We had a nice meet and greet and a great time talking about the morning and fishing in general. My daughter is coming home this afternoon and the two of us are going out and see if we can get in on some of GABOWMAN's fish......if he left any. Man, that dude is one fish-catching machine. I am enjoying my camera and got a few pictures of the morning. Name: DSCF5041.jpg

fow what it worth. Had a great day on the water. Like Berry said we boated 35 several in 1# range. Brought home 18 and packed up 24 filets for my sister-in-lae in Fla. It was good to see you folks out todaym only wish Ly Jiggs could have been there but by lauchung befor day she don't like mush. Now that GOM had a ime out there during the morning. /course any of us would have tu\ime if wwe had 4 ladies on board. Now them girls were catching some more fish. Bout 9:45 "FOM stated he had lost his mind. I called out to him that he needed to have a mind before he could lose it. just joking. It is a good thing he can guide ladies to catch fish, he couldn't catch fish on Thursday morning and it was about the same on Tuesday also Still trying to get pics on to the computer.

Good eeing and talking to sll you folks and maybe it can happen again soon.

Yep, Im felt like a tourney guy late for the tourney when I rolled into the ramp parking lot IN THE DARK, mind ya...and everybody was already gone. I wasted some time at the ramp waiting on daylight while watching FOM's operation getting underway. Even over the roar of that Yamaha on his boat speeding down the lake I could hear William explaining the plan of attack for the morning with plenty of his early morning laughter.

Well, once headed to the fishing spot when I rounded the last curve it looked like I just pulled into a drive in movie. Looking in almost every direction out in front of me were running lights still on and people fishing. They musta had flashlights too if they were seeing poles that early in the morning. I'd hate to even think what a tangled few lines would be like in the dark.

It was a good morning of fishing for all of us. Air temp started at 63* and the water temp started @ 83*. Water was stained and the fish and bait was showing up nicely on the graph. Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves and from what I saw I think everybody was catching a good many fish. I didnt catch any big fish but got plenty of good solid keepers for some serious eating one night next week.:thumbup

Sam, the measuring board worked out GREAT! And I might add that it gives a little CLASS too.

It started getting pretty warm to me about 10AM and since I had left the group to fish somewhere else I called it quits at 10AM and went to check on the crowd. Barry was about to quit too so I headed to the ramp to get loaded and find a shady spot for the greet and eat to begin. Guys, I think this is more fun than the actual fishing sometimes. There was some truths told and some...well, lets just say maybe a little stretching of the truths told too. And as they say...what is said at the lake remains at the lake so I'll leave it there.

It was great seeing all of you guys again and maybe with fall on the way we will have plenty more chances in the very near future for more of the same. And with that...here's my last couple photos taken today...Jiggs and his partner...

    ....and my livewell shot.

Good to hear everyone had a good morning on the lake. It is always good to fish around other members of CDC and when you can spend time talking and eating, doesn't get any better. Nice pics of the day and Butch those are good eating size crappie. Got to ask if Burdawg & Bringingblood let each other use hooks today
    Good report guys

Ronnie, Keith and BB were the last two out on the water today. When BB was walking across the parking lot to get the truck I asked him if he had to do emergency surgery on Keith...is that is what kept them out so long. He said he didnt have to cut him, but threaterned to throw him into the lake several times.

Great pictures of a fine day on the water! I did think someone had perfected time travel, and I had found myself back in April from the crowd on the pond!!

Glad everyone caught fish. Barry, ain't it always the case? You find the fish, let a few select folks know about it, and the next time you go back it looks like the parking lot at a UGA game and you struggle to catch a mess o' fish outta your own hole!

We started slow but our bite picked up in the late morning, mainly due to a good tip from Burdawg. Thanks Keith! After we said our goodbyes at the ramp, we switched gears and fished for bass and stripers til the heat got too much at 1:30, picking up at least half a dozen spots and largemouths and a big ol' hybrid of 6+ lbs.

Great fun and lots of laughter at the ramp and on the water. Great to be a part of all this with so many good folks and good-natured ribbing. The day was truly a blessing from the Lord.

Me and BB enjoyed the mini fall fest...caught lots of fish and got to see a lot of friends catch 'em too. Enjoyed hearing the laughter from FOM's boat all morning too! But the funniest thing was Jigg's overheard BB when he said William got a better deal when he traded Jiggs for them 4 gals. That was PRICELESS! Not often that BB is speechless! I owe you one Jiggs! I got some good pics but it will be a few days before I can post them. Thanks to Barry for sharing his honey hole with the CDC armada.

You know, I've heard alot about the "fall bite" but when I decided to fish instead of hunt the fall bite wasnt anywhere close to the spring bite for me last year. If the bite we've experienced this past week holds true thru this fall as the rains come, the water cools, and lakes dingies up some then I can see us having a great fall crappiefest. Nothing could be better than yesterday unless there are two or three times as many boats coming out to fish and enjoy a great gathering catching lots of fish, munching on lunch, and enjoying the fellowship together like we had yesterday. Now I know some will say I'm wishing my life away but I say...COME ON COOLER WEATHER!!
