Thread: Question for a Master at baiting a hook.

I say anyway is right that you are comfortable with...I hook my shiner below the dorsal fin...I have always used a gold long shank hook (about a #4 I believe).....something my dad taught me over 62 years ago....if you hang up, it bends easily.....never used a shiner with a jig before.......my question is, if you hook them thru the eyes, can they still see????.....my experience has been that I can tell when a fish is stalking my shiner......(I always use a cork fishing with shiners)......watching my cork I can tell when the shiner feels in danger and trying to run away.....then the cork slowly disappears.....what a rush....huh guys.....

BTW.....I also use jigs.....

be careful what you "masters" tell nimrods. i once told a man slappin the water with a paddle works for me. next time i seen him he told me he tried it and it dint seem to help. i told another i only used female minnows. he couldnt figger out how to sex em. another one i told i sucked the slime off the minnow after i baited it. i stopped him before he stuck it in his mouth. told another one minnows will sweat and to use the minnows in his bucket that wasnt sweating. all strange and unbeleivable but accepted as fact till i told em different....
