Dawgg, sounds like an awesome trip. Lots of fish caught, no problems with anything, time well spent with your son and a few of his friends. And to top all that off, a good mess of fish as a bonus to bring home. Congrats.
With showers popping up all around yesterday It was iffy if I would go. My son and his 3 buddies were dead set on going night fishing. Of course they were more interested in drinking a few beers and B/S ing. Loaded up everything and bought minnows and gas and got on the way. Ebenezer park has changed their gate entrance times. Used to be they closed around 6 pm.(free to enter) Now they close at 8:30 pm. I don't think that's going to work for us, so now it's a season pass to get in for night fishing. Oh well. It did not rain again all night on us. yeah! Got on water and went to Torrance and found fish hanging around and old brush pile I know of plus a few hundred more fishermen. Got good amount of bait around the area so after three passes I set up not for from the good spot. caught a few small ones prior to dark and then after dark the bite started pretty good. Managed to land 13 crappies and 1 perch and 9 catfish. My son Greg had the big fish right off the bat maybe 14 inch fish. I had been trying to show one of his buddies how to slow roll a minnow to the top and make a fish strike. He became a monster catching crappies. He had a few big fish but most were small. We threw maybe 25 or so small ones back keeping only 10 to 15 in fish. Cat fish moved in and crappie bite was all but over. Matthew had a rod set for catfish and he had hooks straightened twice and a couple of break offs. One fellow Curtis caught nothing. He tried but it wasn't for him. He sat between each of us and nothing. Had a great night, no one lost and eye, fish were caught and made it home safe! I'm glad I went, caught a few fish, met some great young men and survived to tell it. Hope to have picture sent to me later I'll post them then.

cutbait, fish were not deep that we were over. Set up in 28 foot and fish ranged from three or four cranks off the bottom to 5 or 6 foot from the top just under the bait. Lot of small bait which is right size.
Craig, I hope you and the Captain get into some fish In the morning. You should pick some up tight lining right off the bat.
Here's the only picture Greg forwarded to me.
Hope to go again one night this week. Tight lines to everyone!

Hope you can take them again soon and everyone can catch a few.
Hoping to get out Friday or Saturday night myself.
