We are planning to hit Hartwell a couple of nights this weekend for some crappie. Good luck to all.
And the temps for Saturday and Sunday look perfect.Thumbs Up Normally I aint a weekend fisherman but this one looks too good to pass up. Maybe the cool temps on Saturday will keep the pleasure boaters off the water until the afternoon hours and allow us fishermen more time for reeling in those slabs.
Who's got what kind of plans for this weekend?

Good luck logs. With those cooler night time temps maybe the bugs wont show. Will be looking for some reports next week.Thumbs Up
10-20 mph winds on Friday but looks good for the weekend. I'll be on the Hill
Was gonna go but my engine tore up. I took off yesterday to fish and the engine wouldn't go above 3000 rpm's. Spent all day messing with it. After the spark plug, fuel filter changeout yielded no results I reluctantly took it to the marine dealership. Their boat yard was slap full too. Guess I'll get it back in about three weeks. What do I do now with no boat? I'm depressed so post several picks so I can live vicariously through you guy's.
Hate hearing that Judson. Maybe you'll talk with someone at the shop that can take a look at it and atleast tell you what's the matter with it. That way they can go ahead and order any parts needed. 3 weeks goes by pretty fast, but it could get hot and all the fish moved back out into deeper water by that time. Sorry to hear about your boat troubles.
Guess I'll be tied up all of Saturday preparing for Easter Sunrise Service. Friday don't look good for fishin' so me and Nate will try ONE more time to get a thunder-chicken. That boy has learned more about turkey hunting in a week that I learned in my first two or three years. He LOVES!! chasing them birds. I had a shot Sunday A.M., but I ain't totin' a gun. Roosted him Sunday evening, but he had 7 or 8 lady friends within 100 yards of him and when he flew down Monday he gathered them all up in the middle of my hay-field (which is 17-acres big) and walked off to tend to business. We called up a gaggle of hens on Monday and Tuesday, but each time the old tom was either in the middle of my hay-field or a neighbor's 80-acres pasture and we couldn't coax him close enough. I should have tried to decoy him, but since I quit hunting 3 years ago, I'd give my decoys to my pastor to use with his boys. I have to admit, I've had a GREAT time seeing Nate get so excited when they get danger close and calling to turkeys and hearing them gobble again. I am totally exhausted now after hunting 5 mornings in a row.....to think I use to do it 12 or 15 days in a row. We only got one more morning, but we'll get out there and see what we can do.
Hey.....open the livewell!
Good luck getting Nate a shot. Whether he does or doesnt, I believe you have him hooked now though. Nothing quite like hearing 'em at good light sounding off from the treetops...but when they get in close it's something else.Thumbs Up
Gonna try buffalo creek and see what happens sat hopefuly might even try to camp out and go again Sunday to
