Great report and grats on catching all them fish.
I am still catching alot of fish in the afternoons. The crappie bite this year has been better than any year I can remember for at least the last 10 years - at least on the part of Hartwell I am fishing.
The crappie are in shallow water. Just find a little structure/brush/timber and about 6 to 8 feet of water and chances are you will catch a bunch right now on Hartwell.
The water temp was 72 when I left the lake around 6:30 tonight ....unbelievable for March 21!
Today there was a huge school of what I call white bass (some call them white perch) and they wanted my jig as much if not more than the crappie did. I also caught a 5 lb catfish on a jig - now that was a fun battle! Probably caught 40-50 fish in all in less than 2.5 hours....brought a couple dozen or so home and had some of them for dinner. The neighbors had the rest.
By the way, my bass fishing buddies tell me the largemouth are on fire on Hartwell too! Guess the FLW boys didn't catch 'em all!
Great report and grats on catching all them fish.
Another good report. Thanks for sharing.
Congrats on the catch. Thanks for the report. I bet that catfish was a lot of fun.
Get Da Net! :D
Thanks for the report.

What area of Hartwell are you fishing? I have been catching pretty good up the Seneca river and Coneross creek area. Blow downs and brush have been pretty good, but have not caught alot longlining. May try Russell tomorrow.
Great report. You have really been catching some fish the last couple months.

Thanks for the report. It's good to hear so many positive reports coming off of the 'well this year. It has been tough chasing the crappies on the 'well for the past few years, it's really nice to see it alive again. Hopefully I have my boat issues resolved and can join in with some new reports from the other side of the lake this weekend.
