    Default Murray 1-9-12

Me and my son fished Murray today,First trip of the new year. We started out striper fishing, caught a few then we change over to crappie about 11 am, it was slow to start with, but about 1:30pm they started to bite for us, We stayed after them till 3:30pm then went back to striper fishing till 5pm and give up. all in all a good day, We move a lot, few here and a few there, vertical jigging over brush mainly and around a few docks. Didn't take many pictures, just of the cooler, total was 11 striper and 90 something crappie.Could have been better, but we'll get'em next time.

We kept 20 crappie and 6 striper, and that was too many to clean! Oh yea, this report is just for you, knappy.

EXCUSE ME!!! you came from North Carolina and fished for Striper and Crappie--where you caught 11 Stripers which was 1 fish too many and you caught 90 crappie which was 50 Crappie over the limit--all I have to say is you are teaching your son some good habits and if you are that hungry we in SC will buy you a meal!!!And why dont you fish NC lakes--you guys are a pain in the butt --with habits as you have.Where --o--where are the Game Wardes when things like this happen!!!!:o:p

I been wondering the same thing about the game wardens, hadn't seen any. But I never keep a limit of any fish, so I dont worry about seeing the warden. But let me tell you about this NC boy, when my boat hits the water, we're only after one thing and thats FISH! We go find the fish, do what it takes to catch them, and try not to show anyone how we do it, or where. Now if thats a pain in the butt, I'm sorry. I do fish NC lakes, just giving them a break. Letting the fishes mouth heal up. HA! HA!. I dont tell many details on the open board, but I do answer PMs.

Congrats on a great day on the water. The numbers of fish caught only reflects on the days productivity. It doesn't mean the party involved kept that many.

He said he only kept 20 crappie and 6 stripers. He could have kept 40 crappie and 10 stripers. Would that everyone would catch and release like that.

I think SCCRAPPIE may have missed what he wrote at the bottom of his post under the pics, I almost missed it also. It happens sometimes. We all want our lakes fished right and by the SC fishing laws and I believe Countryboy goes by the laws of our state..

Nice catch and it's good to hear y'all had a good day on the lake. Thanks for the report and pics .
