Me and Bill and Billy hit it again last night hoping to break the funk we been in lately.Headed to the north end last night after Rango gave such a bad report on Allison creek and we were finally rewarded with some good action.Got set up an hour before dark and had a lot of fun casting minnows to the bank and catching big channels at will.It didn't take more than 30 seconds to get a hit every time and the fish were in the 5-6 lb range.Lots of fun on ultralight gear.Once the sun went down and lights got lit up , the rods started bouncing on both ends of the boat pretty regular. We stayed busy catching fish for the next three hours while listening to the basketball game on the radio. We had already decided to leave at 10:00 because rain was coming , so at 9:50 we decided better safe than sorry and at that moment I felt a sprinkle.Pulled all the lines in and and pulled anchors for the wet ride back to the ramp.Luckily the rain wasn't as bad as it could have been and the ride was fairly short.Bill dropped a rod in the water early in the game last night and was pretty pissed about it.As we were picking the lights up he noticed a hook on the styrofoam lid and pulled. On the other end was the rod he had lost Sometimes things end well.Final tally was 39 crappie 3 white pearch and several cats and taterchips we threw back.3 or 4 of the fish we caught were very nice 1 1/2 -1 3/4 lb slabs. The rest were nice chunky wylie netters at 3/4 lb or so.Noticed a lot of very dark black males last night and a lot of dogwood blooms along the shore.Water temp was 60.3 and the depth was 22'.

Wasn't much rain to speak of , but dont know what it did after we left.I was asleep an hour later.Hope they are still there for you , I would think bobbers in shallow water as there was a lot of black males that were swole up and showing off.Only thing is when I tried it , there was only big channels.Wonder if they are feeding on spawning crappies too.A thug mutiny of sorts.

Yep , that was me.I figured it was somebody from the board fishing up there but I didn't recognize you. Thanks for being so quiet leaving , the other three boats that passed by last night were not as nice.I'm sure you remember too.Hope you did as well as we did , we almost fished down where you was at first but saw better things on the graph on the spot we was fishing.I am going to fish sunday morning for spawners with the kids , hope they cooperate.

Yea I had A fair night with the fish, I left a little early to try to beat the rain. Im still getting the toon rigged. I find something every night I want to change, I think Im going to change to lanterns instead of battery power to light up the inside of the boat.

The spawn is almost over if you are getting black males. You should see the blue gills move into the same spot. This a time when you can get some dandies.
