I fish the tailwaters form time to time. FIshed below wylie and Cedar creek in my yak. How do you fish them? Yak, shore, jon boat, jet boat? I've been wanting to get down to the Lugoff area and do some tailwater fishing. I hear the Watteree river has a good breeding population of striper and some nice catfish.
i did learn one thing about fast water. don't anchor in it. I about had my yak sucked under when trying to anchor in an eddy. Got caught in the current, then the anchor bounced off a few rocks on the bottom then caught. The front end of my yak went under and i about had to change my drawers. I was pulling my knife to cut the anchor line when it let go. Not easy to draw your knife, paddle forward, adn balance to keep the yak stable. Gotta know what you are doing when fishing current or you can get hurt fast.
John 21:3
Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.
And we act like this Nightstalking thing is new.
For some excitment, read the next verse. A special guest arrived, they filled their coolers and had a fish fry on the beach...in the morning. My kind of people.- Bowfin
