    Default Rocky River/ Russell Questions

1980 thru 2004 We slayed slabs in the spring spawn on r.r. from the confluence with wilson creek all the way up to and including the dam. Also at the bridge of w.c. In 02 we planted trees a many in r.r. after sediment shallowed the water in the coves.
"After running up the channel of r.r. from the island at the confluence, and bending to the left, we put most of the trees in the second cove on the right."
We have not come near what we used to catch in the last 5 years.
Have any of you? Have you fished those trees? Post me some catch numbers with dates if you have.
I'll never give up completely on that stretch of water, but I'm needin' help understanding what's goin' on there.
By the way, I don't think you can use the ramp @ w.c. anymore cause of the sediment.

Haven't been to Wilson Creek landing in years. Never has been a good ramp and not much parking!!! When I fish Rocky River I'm always below Hwy 81 and most the time closer to Calhoun Falls.

I fish r.r. a lot as well, and all i have caught the last two years is one carp. It has been awful. I think burdawg does pretty well in that area. Maybe he can give us some gps waypoints :D

Yea, fishing is expensive. I'll just take a box of fresh crappie fillets too.:D:D:D

I can give you some GPS waypoints but they might not be too helpful...you could end up in a mallard hole in Mississippi:D.....on a serious note I don't fish that far up Rocky, so my knowledge of that area is well limited
