I have a pro angler rod that’s 5’6” and really like it . I just don’t use it much because I now like a longer rod !
i use a Wally Marshall speed shooter 7’ for casting and shooting docks 98% of the time the rod feels great in my hand but we all have a different feel and like different things You will be hard pressed to find a rod as sensitive as the Wally Marshall and it has great back bone and they used to be less than 50 bucks but prolly gone up some now just like everything else !

speedshooter is my absolute favorite in 7 footer shoot a jig a mile an then cast one a mile. most versatile rod iv ever had
