Here they are. Nothing special. Fish tail has to completely cover the hole to be a keeper. 3/8 drill bit... drilled right on 9". That puts the fish at 9 3/16. I just don't like wasting my money on things this simple.

Catch grease I like those. NC wildlife resources officers has basically the same deal as yours just wider. They had a machine shop mill lines across the width of the aluminum. I’ve saw em many times while getting stripers checked at the Roanoke river, there’s a slot limit; 18 to 22” theirs are precise.
You are absolutely right on the plastic one blowin out of the boat. Thanks for postin a picture.
HEY,,WATCH THAT YELLOW RODMCG1 LIKED above post
I make some out of cedar. They have a 10” radius cut into the board the entire length, the fish will somewhat lay in the “ trough like” radius. I have lines engraved at different measurements and names; fish etc. this one shown was graduation present.
I’ll try to get a picture that shows the radius better. This particular board was basically made for the Roanoke River Rockfish. The keeper fish are from 18”-22”. No fish between 22”-26”. Over 26” falls back into the keeper size.
The "homeade" ones look great. Good Idea and yes a lot cheaper. I had a $32 one blow out my boat. The current $24 dollar one is now screwed to the deck where the end won't end up in my foot. You could easily mount the metal ones.
