Wowser:
Awesome for a 30 year old 340k mile engine IMHO.
Take a look at the video, and let me know if you think this engine's compression test will be OK?
it's a 1995 Jeep Xj with 340k miles. The previous owner was the second owner and drove it the last ten years. He said it was the original engine.
Kinda not very promising, but we will see, I'm doing the test directly, just wanted to get this posted?

Never thought it would be that high still. Does it have a timing chain or belt? Timing chains are one of the first things I replace on old engines like that.
Yeppers, it has a timing chain. Thanks for the heads up. This is a long term project, something I'll be addressing after I get the Sprint out of the garage. I'll likely check/replace the oil pump too and check the play in the crankshaft bearings. Kinda give it a once over. I'll check the chain at that time. It'll be fin, yay. Now back to the Sprint and the Yamaha. Yep, I still got to tune the Yamaha. I have the 4 new vacuum guages just sitting there wondering when they'll get used. doh, too many projects, too little time....

Those in line 6's certainly lasted. Didn't really matter who made them. Really good design for longevity

In-line 6's always produced more bottom end torque it seemed like to me, even though a few drag racers preferred them over the eights...
