F100 getting it back together....
Reassembling the 2000 Yamaha f100 four stroke outboard. All I did was replace the crankshaft main journal bearings and a head gasket that was blown. I bought it from someone who ran the engine for 3 months after a shop rebuilt it. The guy said it overheated and had locked up. I bought it and opened it up to see what she looked like inside. Head gasket was blown and main bearing were toast. Everything else looked fine, kinda!

Slab I don't think you have a bad plan, those engines are fairly low compression. I think 3500-4000 for test running should be good anyway. In fact most outboards made from the mid 90's on are low compression except Mercury. Mercury runs a bit higher, you can hear the compression when near one running, 2 stroke that is. Not sure if they dropped their love for a little more compression in the 4 strokes. Nobody runs Mercury engines here except Verado engines, they are pretty awesome supercharged and all.After the next video, I'm not so sure you want me to do it! Talk to Rojo.
