Looking good boss man.
I took the first step in polishing the Yamaha 100hp crankshaft. I know I say in the video that it's ready for using metal polishing compound next, but I'm prolly gonna do more sand paper polishing before that. Really this was just the first step to see if I needed to be shopping for a new crank shaft, and me thinks I'm good. I really spent very little effort on getting it to this point. Heck, maybe 8-10 strokes of 2 different size grits (800-1200) and that's it. And I'm talking about the Vice Grip Garage (VGG) technique, old timers used to use. Wrapping the bearing, with wet (with wd40) sand paper and spinning the paper around the bearing with a shoe lace lightly.
Just need to complete the polishing, and start putting it all together. Oh wait, still gotta order parts! doh....prolly do that after Christmas, once I get my list together.
I'll try to video me actually using the VGG technique.
Looking good boss man.
