Default F100 - Ford Crankshaft journal bearings on Yamaha

Is this normal, I've not looked them up. I do know that they did not work too good in this engine. But I don't know if it was just run with low or no earl!

I'm googling cross references, and I'm not seeing that Ford makes camshaft bearing for Yamaha outboards. Was this an experimental engine Elon Musk was working on for use on Mars! I betcha it was! A very special engine build for sure!

Totally crazy. Took me two days to figure it out. Some of the crank numbers you use, and other you don't. You use every other one, kinda. And the numbers on the block I could not even find. They were dirty, but didn't look like it was dirty. Anyway, I found them, and I'm blue/blue for all the crank main journals. At least I know that., Now I gotta figure out the rod end journals!

I'm kinda thinking that whoever rebuilt this previously and installed the Ford bearings, did not select the right size. dono

At least for the rod bearings I can see the color that was used previously. The ford bearings that were used on the main journals were not colored.

One did not have a color though.

With Yamaha, the bearing color indicates it's thickness. Don't know about other brands as I've never done this before. I'll still have to read the manual to see how the rod bearings are measured, sue hope it's easier than the mains. I have to go remove the pistons now. ttyl

OK, so I have Green/Greens on all the rod end bearings, so I'll get grn/grn ones, and then you test everything with the new ones with plastigauge for the rod bearings and the main bearings. Me thinks me gots a plan. I need rings too. What else......

If I can take a guess the Main Bearings didn't have the proper clearances and why is binded up.
