    Default Bring The Thunder

It may be "bring the thunder" day, as Dereck would say (from Vice Grip Garage). I just have to install the fuel tank, connect all the fuel lines and filter, put up the exhaust, install water pump and thermostat, and some various pullies/belt tensioners. Plus whatever I'm not thinking of right now, there's always something, right. There's still a ton of other work to do on it, but I can maybe fire her up! yay

Wish me luck. It should be a cake walk especially since I'm one year older now, and so much wiser!

Hope you have much success. In this instance no “KABOOM”. Fingers crossed here.

If you're like me I forget things on the "Still to do List" to keep a positive attitude about a particular project and blame overlooking it on age.

Past that point, water pump and thermostat done.
Fuel maker system is done too. Break time and then five gallons of fuel. Oh wait, exhaust first. Doh

It's turning over, and that was a trick cause the neutral safety switch needed adjusting, nothing was happening till I took care of that. Now it's turning, but I can't see if it's got sparkles. I just can't peek under the hood good enough to see my test light. I need wifey to get off work and come turn the key for me so I can see if the spark maker works.

No thunder today. Pretty sure it's the ignition switch. The fuel pump does not kick on in the ignition position. You can get it to turn on with a little wiggling just before the ignition position, but once you advance the key to the ignition position everything turns off, dash lights and everything. But in does turn the motor over in the start position. Weird stuff. I think all the moisture inside the car for all those years did a number on the interior electronics. We'll see what other gremlins show up later I guess, but a new ignition will be here Wednesday.
