    Default Humminbird 597ci HD Fishfinder

I'm in Jacksonville, FL and I have the above fish finder. When I'm fishing the larger lakes in Fla. such as Orange and Lochloosa near Gainesville, the screen shows an image of the body of water with good detail. However, when I'm on smaller lakes and ponds, the fish finder doesn't show the body of water at all.

Why is that and is there a fix that will enable me to see on the screen an image of the body of water I'm on?

    Thanks.

So not knowing much about it I would believe the smaller waters are not on the Humminbird UniMap that the unit came with. If there is an SD slot a map card would help but I am not very familiar with your unit. Also ponds might not show at all.

Thanks for all the input here guys, I truly appreciate it. But candidly I'm 78 years old and I'm a speed bump on the info super highway. So what is it specifically that I need to do? Do I need to purchase some sort of SD card to install in my fish finder?

Yes you would. Here is the lake list for the SE States card. Use this link to view and see if the lakes you want are listed. Be Blessed.
