I finally got a chance to sit I my lazy boy and fire up my Helix units to check out data from May 5th. It was my first pure 100% fishing trip I have had installing them. Admittedly, that day I didn't put ANY time in studying my units ; other than admiring the crispness of images and awesome target separation. Man, I wish I would have hit start recording. Sorry, I tarry.
Question 1 ; Do Helix Mega Chirp 10's and 12's create a snapshot when you hit the mark button?

Absolutely ...
Same procedure as I listed above with Recording during playback ...

This is exactly some of the studying I encompassed upon my learning journey ...
I would fish until about 30 minutes before dark and put up my poles ...
Then I would motor to a spot about a 1/2 mile from the launch ramp and start Recording ...
I would record the entire bank all the way to the launch ramp and then study those recordings at home, marking waypoints on the Recording, and then later verify those waypoints when I went back to that same area ...
Fantastic learning opportunities in these unit functions ...
