    what setting affects the dark strip under the boat on side image? It used to get wider with depth. Tried to attach photo, hope it works. The photo is simulator but it's the same on water

    I believe the water column is hid.
    It is a setting that can be changed.

    I believe it is contour on or off.
    Someone smarter than I will chime in before long.

    X2, Redge. it's contour "ON" or "OFF" the image shows to have contour turned "ON" which removes the water column.
