    Default Humminbird Helix9 G2 Di

Having trouble seeing my jig with the Helix 9G2 Di unit. You can pick it up about 10% of the time in 20, of water. I have posted on the same troubles on a FB group and the feed back is to turn on jigging mode, which this unit doesn't have. Does anyone else have this issue? Would a new transducer solve the problem? We have also tried setting the switch fire to max mode and you end up with to much clutter on the screen. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

    Default Humminbird Helix9 G2 Di

The challenge with the HB DI units is that the 2d sonar cones (in the stock XNT 9 DI T) are so narrow it's difficult to keep the bait in the center of the 2d cone ...

The XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T xducer below (which will work on the HELIX 9 DI) has much wider 2d cones which would be easier to keep the bait in the Sonar cone ...

(Note: the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T is a TM puck style housing which would need a custom built bracket for mounting anywhere except on a TM) ...

So it's a matter of keeping the jig in the Sonar cone and then jack up the Sensitivity until the jig shows on the 2d display ...

And you are correct ... The HELIX DI units do not have "Jigging Mode" ...

That feature is only available in the core series SI units ...

Yes ... All core series HB DI units (numbered series, G1, G2, and G2N) come stock with the XNT 9 DI T ...which will interchange with the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T ...

MEGA DI units (to be released this fall) will most likely have a new model xducer ... we shall see ...

Here is what I got back from Customer service:

Thank you for contacting Humminbird Customer Service. The transducer that came with your unit is the only one that will work with your unit, there is no upgrade for the DI transducer. The SI units are the units with the jigging mode. You can send in your transducer for repair and they will test it. We would recommend adjusting the sensitivity to see if this will help pick up the jig.

    Rickie--Do you know for sure?
