I installed my 7 last night and couldn't figure out what the transducer insert was for. Can anyone chime in? Also, what is the purpose of lining up the correct bead number when connecting the transducer to the mount?

Once installed it keeps the spray down created by the transducer.

Lining up the numbers is so it can ratchet properly. Odd number of teeth between inner and outer.

Often called the "Rooster Tail" plug - it fits from the bottom - up into the space between the "legs" on the XDCR to prevent water spraying up through that opening.
