Default SI and DI transducer on same unit

If I were to take the DI transducer from my old 570 DI and hook it up with a splitter cable to my 598 SI would the DI view on the 598 actually use the DI transducer or would it still be using the blended signal from the standard SI 'ducer that came with the 598? I'm not sure off the top of my head whether the 598 is using the 455 or 800 frequency on the SI. I'm pretty sure the 570 was 200/800 with the DI. I"d have to check on the specs of each to see if there is a common frequency between the 2.

If it won't work with the 598, would it work with a higher end unit like a Helix 7 or 9 SI? Would you have to specify in the setup menu every time you went to the DI view from an SI unit? I would think if you had a switch it might work as you'd only be getting one signal at a time.

Too much time on my hands today, I guess........

    With your scenario of a XNT 9 SI 180 T and a XNT 9 DI T ...

The AS SIDB Y cable re-Routes the wire channels as ...:

    *SI/Blended DI/ Temp would come from the XNT 9 SI 180 T ...
*2d would come from the XNT 9 DI T ...
    -----

Scenarios to use the XNT 9 DI T on the SI unit ... :

*Connecting the XNT 9 DI T directly to the SI unit would give 2d/Dedicated DI/Temp = no SI ...
*Connecting the XNT 9 SI 180 T and the XNT 9 DI T to the HB TS3 switch ... Which would function only 1 xducer at a time ...

There is no way to hook both xducers to 1 head unit to get SI from the XNT 9 SI 180 T and Dedicated DI from the XNT 9 DI T without the HB TS3 switch ... And then it's either/or ... not both ... nor parts of both ...

    Thanks, Rickie.
I think I'll just leave things the way they are. I don't need more clutter and wires in my little rowboat.

Rickie..Would this work on a 798 ci si combo non hd unit. Have si on back. I what dedicated di not blended up front. I have the xducer from my old 570 that mounts on the trmotor. Is it plug and play or do I need more cables or adapters? Also will it hurt the unit using the XNT 9 DI T ?

The XNT 9 DI T can be used on any core HB SI unit to get dedicated DI ... (it is plug and play with a few settings caveats) ...

*The SI image will show right SI only - left SI will be black ...
*The image in the right SI is from directly under the boat - not out to the side ...
*Do not use the "Narrow DI Width" setting under the Sonar tab - use "Medium" or "Wide" ...
*The 83kHz 2d images will not be very good (XNT 9 DI T does not support 83kHz) - use 200kHz only ...

It is spoken of that the open left SI channel could damage the left SI transmitter over time ... but I have not read nor heard of actual reports of this actually happening to anyone using this Setup ...

Even HB says the XNT 9 DI T can be used on the SI unit ...

Thanks for the great info like always Rickie.. The dedicated DI is a lot clearer than when blended with the Si.

Post some screenshots of the dedicated DI on the HB SI unit ...

    We like screenshots ...
