Default Help with an elite 7i

Is there anyway to create smaller waypoint icons. If not how can i tell what part of the icon is the spot I marked? At first I thought I was miscalculating where the structure was that I was trying to Mark. Then I created some using the cursor. Same deal. The icons cover so much water I spend way to much time relocating the structure. Love the unit but this part is very irritating. May be something I'm doing wrong. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I don't know if you can change the size of the waypoint but I always zoom all the way in when I want to be as accurate as possible.

The elite 7 doesn't zoom in as far as I'd like.

One can mark more accurate Waypoints by physically finding the brush ...and then dropping a waypoint on each outer side of that brush pile ...

Then returning to the brush pile on the Chart view should put that brush pile in between the 2 Waypoints on the Chart (instead of the brush pile being "somewhere" around that blue dot) ...

Thanks. Good idea. I had several brush piles marked like that. Unfortunately my last 7ti died an untimely death and took my waypoints with it. I wish there was someway to just use a period for an icon. The first one I tried was a cross. Wow it was several hundred feet in length on each arm. My screens so cluttered now from trying to narrow it down I need to clear a bunch of them. The only lake with decent crappie near me has a terrible shortage of structure. I spent 3 years finding all I had on my other unit. There arnt any really big brush piles. Just a bush here and there. A few downed trees and some man made structure which is way over fished so I dont bothere what fish are left there. There are a few deep man made structures I do fish. nobody likes to work on 50 ft deep crappie. I enjoy the challenge Actually Ive caught several of my biggest crappie of of those. Unfortunately we dont have the slabs you folks down south do. MY best is 17 inches. Could tell a story or two about the big one that got away. lol Ive learned to keep a net handy now. Ok I tend to talk too much as you can see. Thanks for the help and Ill let you know how it works out.

After each trip I upload waypoints to google earth and organize. I save a copy afterwards. I always have a backup.

get the screen zoom in as possible and even if big symbol then aim for center, and if you want to hit it every time then set wp while going one way and try to go that way every time, you should not have any trouble that way, have over 600 wp and do not see a problem going to them, natually the shallow they are the harder to go over,if using 2d make sure you are using wide beam,i use 2d,di and si when I go over bp ,that way I know which side of boat bp is on and if it got fish on it and if they are big enough to make me stop

Thanks. I tried that today. Really helped. When zoomed in the icons are much smaller. I changed them all to the star which is the smallest. No problem finding my structure. Thanks

Thanks. I'll try that. The zoom in really helped. I feel stupid. I've been having problems on my last two units. That takes care of the icon problem.
